"a place to go" is a working process still there a few works to complete.
Welcome to a "place to go"
More than just a coffee shop, "a place to go" is a warm, welcoming community hub where everyone belongs. Whether you're looking for great coffee, friendly conversation, somewhere to work, or simply a quiet place to relax, you'll always find a warm welcome here.
Run by Tunstall Together C.I.C., every purchase you make has a lasting impact. 100% of our profits are reinvested back into Tunstall, funding community projects, free and low-cost activities, workshops, equipment, local events, and initiatives that help make our town a stronger, happier place to live.
A place to connect
Loneliness and social isolation affect people of all ages. We created a place to go to bring people together in a relaxed, non-clinical environment where friendships can grow naturally over a cup of coffee.
Whether you visit alone or with friends, you'll find a welcoming atmosphere where you can:
- Meet new people
- Learn new skills
- Share your own knowledge
- Join activities and workshops
- Access support and information
- Simply enjoy some time for yourself
Our belief is simple: everyone deserves a place where they feel they belong, and afford our prices.
Try Something new, but familiar
We proudly serve coffees, teas and freshly prepared refreshments from a menu carefully created to complement, not compete with, other independent businesses in Tunstall. We wanted to offer something unique while continuing to support our local high street, with some really unique dishes, such as "Welsh Amber Tart, Potter's Pie, Cloud Cake and more, along with classics.
Our soft launch allows our volunteers and staff to build confidence while maintaining the friendly, personal service we want every visitor to experience.
Supporting our community
We've partnered with local charities, community organisations and support services who will regularly use the hub for:
- Coffee mornings
- Business coffee mornings

Learn, create and inspire
We believe everyone has something to teach and something new to learn.

NEWS
Urban Sketchers Capture the Beauty of Tunstall
04.07.2026
We were delighted to welcome the Urban Sketchers to A Place to Go as they spent time exploring and capturing Tunstall's beautiful architectural heritage and iconic landmarks through their artwork.
It was fantastic to see so many talented artists showcasing our town from a unique perspective, celebrating the buildings and places that make Tunstall special.
It was also a real pleasure to chat with the artists throughout the day. Some were visiting Tunstall for the very first time and had never experienced our wonderful town or its beautiful park before. We hope they enjoyed discovering everything Tunstall has to offer and will visit us again in the future.
Of course, we made sure the artists were kept well supplied with refreshments throughout the day to keep those creative juices flowing!
A special thank you goes to Mary Parker and Chris for helping to organise such a wonderful visit, and to everyone who joined us. It was a pleasure to meet you all, and we hope to welcome you back to Tunstall again soon.
You can find Mary's artwork inside the shop!
Supporting events like these is exactly what A Place to Go and Tunstall Together C.I.C. are all about, bringing people together, celebrating our local heritage, and creating opportunities for our community to connect.
A day of action
01.07.2026
Multi-Agency Day of Action Comes to Tunstall
Every three months, organisations from across Stoke-on-Trent come together for a Multi-Agency Day of Action, working alongside local residents and businesses to help make our communities safer, cleaner and better connected.
The initiative brings together partners including Staffordshire Police, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Trading Standards, Highways, our local councillor, Tunstall Together C.I.C., and many other organisations. Throughout the day they engage directly with the community, listen to local concerns, provide advice, and work together to tackle issues such as crime, anti-social behaviour, environmental problems and community safety.
We were delighted that our newly opened community hub, a place to go, was chosen as one of the venues to welcome partners and showcase what we are building for Tunstall.
Our hub is much more than a coffee shop. It offers organisations a welcoming space to connect with local people through information sessions, workshops, coffee mornings, support groups and community events. It provides an informal, friendly environment where residents can access help, learn new skills, make new friends and discover the services available to them.
Seeing so many organisations together under one roof highlighted exactly why a place to go was created to bring people together, strengthen partnerships, and make support more accessible for everyone in our community.
We would like to thank everyone who attended and look forward to welcoming many more organisations into the hub as we continue working together to build a stronger, safer and more connected Tunstall.
